Aggies began participating Wednesday in Pledge Your Allegiance College Colors Day, a month-long online competition presented by The Collegiate Licensing Company and NCAA Football.
The online rivalry between 165 colleges and universities will end on Aug. 31, College Colors Day, an annual nationwide event during which people are encouraged to sport the colors of their favorite college or university.
Texas AM will celebrate College Colors Day on Aug. 30, because the Aggies already will be donning maroon and white at the first football game of the season against Louisiana Tech in Shreveport on Aug. 31.
The school with the most fans to register at www.espn.com/collegecolorsday will win a College Colors Day Spirit Cup and $10,000 toward the schools scholarship fund.
Registering on the site also enters fans in a drawing to win gift cards to the ESPN Shop.
